Street Pastors

In March 2011 we were able to launch Street Pastors in Cinderford in association with all the other Churches in the town. Our local coordinator is Katrina Cracknell who is supported by the Ascension Trust which first pioneered the movement eight years earlier in London we are able to have our own team patrolling the streets of Cinderford late every Saturday night. Through Street Pastors we are able to bring the highly visible reassuring presence of Christian love in action.  As MP David Burrowes said “Street Pastors is about Christians rolling up their sleeves and getting involved in practically responding to the problems of crime and safety. They are like beacons on our streets”

We are part of 10,000 trained volunteers in around 250 teams serving their communities throughout the United Kingdom. For us in the Forest of Dean this is a team effort which combines all the Churches in Cinderford and Littledean in partnership with Police, Council and other statutory agencies.

If you are interested in becoming a Street Pastor contact Katrina Cracknell and she will be pleased to help you.
